Besides staying in touch in touch with him while finishing his Cycle X motor, Keith also shared some pictures of his eventual sidecar while in production.
Keith after another recent race in France:
"Hello gentlemen, I'm back from my little holiday so now it's back to working on the bike. I can tell you that the engine is better than I ever expected, I have attached a photo. The bike behind me is a fast BMW and I was faster than it out of the corners, it caught up with me a bit through the gears and we were the same on top speed. I think he was a bit quicker than me through the gears because he has a close box (transmission). I held 2nd place for 5 laps and then had trouble with the brakes, I finished 4th, I will make some new discs tomorrow. I also had trouble with grip, I had Dunlop tires on and they couldn't cope with the power. I have ordered some Yokohama tires which have more grip. I really need a chassis with 13" wheels, they have a bigger footprint than my 10". I was also running with the carburation rich so there is more to come. I will give you a call on Tuesday. Keith Walters is competing against 1200cc big dollar race teams with a humble 970cc Cycle X motor along with Keith's determination and efforts.
6/20/18: We were talking to several people that were
watching Keith Walters from the grandstands and they thought his Honda side
car with the Cycle X 970cc motor was faster down the straight-a-ways than
the $20,000+ 1200cc BMW billet motors.

About two weeks later, they were back in the Isle of Man for the 2019 Pre TT Classic with another impressive day of racing, including a 3rd place finish in the classic.
|
|
|
To kick off his first weekend of September, Keith and Alun made an appearance in the annual Hockenheim Classics in Germany with a budget motor that we sent them.
They didn't waste any time and finished 1st place right off the bat to start the day. Keith was kind enough to keep in touch with Prez over the weekend and share these pole position pictures with us.
Not surprisingly, there's Keith leading the pack. They finished 2nd place in their next race.
